Today, I’m discussing why I don’t believe Bill is Luna’s father. The main reason is that it would be the least dramatic outcome possible. Soap operas thrive on drama, and the most dramatic twists keep viewers tuning in daily. So, why did Lee inject herself so dramatically into this storyline? Like all soap opera characters, she had a vested interest in the outcome. The show hinted at this months ago, and viewers, especially Steffy fans, were disappointed when Lee revealed the results.
You might ask, why would Lee tamper with the paternity test results and then be upset that Bill was revealed as the father? My response is that she’s acting. Lee, like Naomi Matsuda who portrays her, is playing a role. The results aligned with her desired outcome: to protect Finn. Yes, I still believe Finn is the father. This is the only reason Lee would go to such lengths and essentially give her sister a happy ending.
I suspected this the moment Lee walked in, but what really got me thinking was why the writers made such a big deal about Lee previously visiting Bill’s home after he saved her life. She’s had something of his ever since, either by coincidence or as part of her long-term plan to alter the DNA tests. I’m sure we’ll see a flashback revealing that Lee had already conducted the paternity test using Bill’s DNA and that of one of his other children, likely Liam since Wyatt is absent.
Why didn’t Lee insist on having the test done at the hospital? Hospital reports would be more thorough and complicated than the home DNA test used, which was essentially a glorified pregnancy test. Ridge, we need to talk. I’m seriously concerned about your decision-making abilities. Are you still feeling the effects of being hit on the head by a pine cone last year? Asking Brooke to become Forrester’s co-CEO without consulting Steffy defies logic.
Then, there’s what Ridge told Brooke about the Hope for the Future issue. He said, “Steffy wasn’t happy with me, but in the end, it all worked out.” Despite his daughter’s anger over being overridden, he then proposed that he and Brooke run the company together, thinking it would be fantastic. What company would intentionally create conflict between its co-CEOs? Thankfully, Brooke recognized the dangers and declined the proposal.
I can’t help but wonder if she’ll change her mind. Given that soaps always go for the most dramatic route, it would be dramatic to have Steffy and Brooke working together. Are Carter and Katie still a thing? We never see them together. If the writers want to bring Katie back into Bill’s story, why not use the paternity test to intertwine her and Carter? Lawrence Saint-Victor, who plays Carter and is also on the writing staff, could create great material showing that Katie’s reaction to Bill’s new daughter proves she’s not over her ex.
