Daytime fans are a virtual Web MD when it comes to Soap-Opera Rapid-Aging Syndrome. So we know that it is highly contagious. What that means for Bold & Beautiful is that now that Will Spencer has been recast with 19-year-old Crew Morrow taking over for Finnegan George, other characters are likely to follow.

It just makes sense, right? Will can’t suddenly walk into a scene as a young man who’s almost old enough to drink when, say, Douglas remains such a whippersnapper that he can’t even get his learner’s permit. How would Will have bypassed whole years of his life while, for instance, Beth is still enjoying having bedtime stories read to her?

If the soap wants to keep its kids’ ages consistent, it’s going to have to rapidly mature a few of them. On the flip side, the show could decide that Will’s case of SORAS is an isolated one, an affliction born of necessity so that whether the character metaphorically sees eye to eye with new sis Luna, he can do so literally. (Get it?)

Plus, if Bold & Beautiful goes that route, it would mean that we’d get to keep Henry Joseph Samiri as Douglas, and let’s be real: The kid’s one of our all-time favorite soap moppets.
