Former Emmerdale starAdam Thomas revealed he was forced to take his son to hospital during their holiday after a terrifying incident.
The Adam Barton actor, 35, said the horrific moment’”unlocked a new fear’ in him, as he dubbed his son a ‘brave lil old soul’.
The Strictly star took to his Instagram page and shared a picture of Teddy, nine, flashing a smile as he sported a series of stitches suffering ‘a deep gash’ under his right eyebrow.
‘I didn’t think I could love this little boy anymore, but I was wrong!,’ he penned.
‘I see him in a completely different light now, a new-found respect and admiration for this brave lil old soul.’
He added: ‘He had a fall whilst we were away and ended up cutting just under his eye… it was quite a deep gash and so had to have stitches but he handled the whole experience like a champ!
‘Throughout all of it he just kept checking on me, Caz and Elsie asking if we’re okay and for us not to worry!
He concluded: ‘Luckily it was only a few stitches and I know things can always be worse and they are for so many people, so just got to count our lucky blessings.
‘But seeing your child have to go through that last night really was a big wake up call for me… a new fear unlocked x.’
Adam and his wife Caroline Daily – who have been married since 2017 – have two childre, a son called Teddy and a daughter called Elsie-Rose.
Speaking to OK! Magazine during her pregnancy with Elsie, Caroline said: ‘I’d been feeling really tired and then suddenly it hit me, that was exactly how I felt when I was pregnant with Teddy.
‘My mum went out and got a test and I left Adam downstairs while I took it. After I realised it was positive, I gave it to Teddy and told him to give it to Adam. I downloaded a pregnancy app and worked out that we got pregnant on our wedding day.’
In the interview Adam also spoke about how he loved getting to work with his family every day after getting to return to the Waterloo Road set
He also said their existing connection made it ‘easier’ to act out the emotionally charged scenes after the loss of Chlo.
‘We have that chemistry and doing those emotional scenes…they were true professionals.’
