Jurell Carter is set to leave Emmerdale after five years.
The actor, who portrays Nate Robinson, will depart the ITV soap after half a decade, with reports suggesting a big exit storyline for the character in the coming months.
Nate, as viewers will recall, rocked up in the eponymous village back in 2019 and swiftly embarked on an affair with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), who was thought to be happily married to Cain (Jeff Hordley) at the time.
A major twist confirmed that the then newcomer was Cain’s estranged son, which meant that his attempts to seduce Moira were nothing more than a twisted way to get revenge on dad Cain for being absent his entire life.
Brutal.
But despite the way in which he was introduced, Nate swiftly settled into the village – and the signature Dingle clan – becoming a regular character. He even managed to mend fences with Cain!
But the end is nigh, according to The Sun, with the character set to leave in quite a dramatic way.
‘Nate has been at the centre of some huge storylines and his exit will be no different,’ a source told the publication.
‘It will be dramatic and explosive and will go down in Emmerdale history. It won’t be one to miss.’
‘Jurell has loved being on the soap but he’s a young actor and it’s understandable he wants to spread his wings.’
Metro.co.uk has reached out to Emmerdale for comment.
The way in which Nate will depart remains to be seen but viewers will recall some conflict between he and Cain in recent months, with Cain on the cusp of forgiving brother Caleb Milligan (William Ash).
Nate has objected to such a thing, with Caleb having had a steamy affair with Nate’s wife Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh).
But will Cain’s willingness to forgive Caleb prove to be the final straw for Nate, as he sets off and leaves the village for good? Or will his exit be even more explosive – and perhaps even deadlier – than that?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
