At first glance, The Bold and the Beautifulβs Poppy seemed like a pushover. Unfortunately for Katie, she basically learned in the Wednesday, June 12 episode that Lunaβs mom is no pushover. In fact, itβs a mistake to underestimate her.
Mansion Showdown
As soon as Luna (Lisa Yamada β talks about becoming a Spencer here) left her new home to meet RJ (Joshua Hoffman), Katie (Heather Tom) had to think she was in the power position. After all, she was a Logan. She was married to Bill (Don Diamont), and until somewhat recently, Dollar Bill pined for a reunion with her. Then Poppy (Romy Park) returned to his life and gave him a daughter. Now, he only has eyes for the woman he briefly connected with over 20 years ago at a music festival.
At first, Katie and Poppyβs conversation was cordialβa little cold, but cordial. Then, things escalated slightly as Katie attempted to express how much she needed to talk to her ex-husband. After all, they needed to discuss Luna. As a result, she pretty much planted herself in the mansion, wanting to wait for Bill to return home. (Thorsten Kaye talks to Soap Hub about his Emmy win here)
However, Poppy had other plans. Namely, she wanted Katie out of there because she knew Bill wanted to spend some more alone time with her and Luna now that they were all under one roof. Katie didnβt really take the hint, so Poppy got less subtle about it. She was always polite, but there was a hint of something more tense under the surface. She barely stepped foot in Billβs mansion but instantly leaned into marking her territory.
Yikes. We could feel the underlying tension. Itβs becoming a little clearer why Li (Naomi Matsuda) responds so viscerally to her sister. However, we would like to learn more about that story sooner rather than later.
So, whatβs left to determine is how Katie reacts to the conversation. Will she back off and let Bill, Poppy, and Luna live in peace? Or will she double down, reignite her spark for Bill, and approach this situation differently? Are we seeing the birth of a new rivalry involving a Logan and a Nozawa, not a Logan and a Forrester? We approve.
Is Katie about to discover how difficult it is to face Nozawa Girl Power? Or will she conjure up a potent Logan spell of her own to combat this sudden frenemy in her life? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. (Find out about the woman behind the designs on B&B here)
