Samson refuses to back down as Cain confronts him.
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale‘s Cain Dingle receives a nasty shock in Monday’s episode (June 10) as dealing with Samson’s lies proves harder than first thought.
Cain has vowed to save his stepson Matty Barton from a jail sentence after Samson falsely accused him of a vicious attack.
Last week, Samson and his new friend Josh teamed up to cause trouble for Matty when he was working a shift at The Hide.
Matty poured away the pair’s drinks after their bad behaviour. With Josh as the ringleader, he and Samson then tried to intimidate Matty by making threats. Josh also made transphobic comments towards Matty.
Things got out of hand as Josh pushed Samson towards Matty, who was holding a knife. This left Samson with a stab injury and – under pressure from Josh – he later told the police that Matty had attacked him deliberately.
In Monday’s episode, Cain tries to make good on his promise to help Matty by confronting Samson.
Paying a visit to Sam and Lydia’s place, Cain accuses Samson of lying because he’s scared of Josh.
He’s left frustrated when Samson sticks to his false story, refusing to clear Matty’s name.
Later, Matty breaches his bail conditions by confronting Samson himself, begging him to tell the truth.
Matty hopes that he has managed to get through to Samson when he expresses his fear of going to prison.
Unfortunately, Samson refuses to listen and instead contacts the police to report Matty for his illegal visit.
PC Swirling arrives in the village to re-arrest Matty, leaving him in turmoil as the threat of time in jail grows ever more likely.
Feeling helpless, Cain is furious that nobody has managed to get through to Samson yet. Could Samson’s lie tear the Dingle family apart for good?
